DAKOTA CHILSON
ORLEANS COUNTY DIRECTOR of Animal Associates.

above: A dog from the SPCA I am walking and showing love.
My name is Dakota and I just turned 9 years old. I started withthe club when I was barely 6. I'm told I am a kind kid, and I love to meet and greet the people at our fundraisers. I always do so good with them.
I love science and math. I like to work fundraisers and do car washes.
I help my mom do the laundry, fold clothes, and take care of her when she is sick. She was real sick a few years ago. I would come right home and sweep the floors for her.
At Christmas I wrote to the service people in Iraq to help boost them. I recieved many replies back from them. That was nice.
I also go into the woods behind my house where I build animal shelters out of brush and twigs to keep the animals out from the rain and snow. I also write many letters to the newspaper. See the viewing site to read them.
I am a cub scout. After leaving Camp Kutta, I always clean up the boys and girls bathrooms before I leave. It doesn't bother me to do this.
I was given the Angels in Action Award for my great service, dedication, and commitment to Animal Associates. I also recieved the Presidential Service Volunteer Award, Bronze level, for my hours of community service for 2003.
2004, I put in 25 hours working the hot dog stand.
I put in 4 hours volunteering at the horse rescue with the girls. I cleaned stalls and worked very hard. Horse chores is hard work, but I don't mind.
And I did 5 hours working the last car wash.
I was a kettle ringer for the Salvation Army, Christmas 2004. I did 4 hours with Jenna and Darcie.
I put in 38 volunteer hours in since July 1st-Dec 2004.
This doesn't count my other hours doing car washes and the raffle with the club or my on going shelter collection for PAWS.
When the members has a SPCA shelter collection, I held my own shelter collection for P.A.W.S. in Orleans County. My collection raised 40.00 in shelter supplies for PAWS. I had my collection closer to me because it closer to my area. I am 3 counties away from the other club shelter collection the club had. Being so far, I figured people may not want to help a place they are not familar with, so I chose .PA.W.S.
I am now setting up a car wash here in Holley for the Seeing Eye Dogs. I will gather the members and they will come up and help me work it.
I have an ongoing collection box that I leave at my pets veterinarians office all year. I takes the donations to P.A.W.S. I recently took another load in January 2005. My total from this last collection in Febuary was 50.00 in pet supplies. We will add it to the club total listed on the Fundraiser page.

I set up a trip for some club members to the Seeing Eye Dog shelter where they raise many dogs for the blind. It was cool to learn all about them. Ariel, Leah, Carolyn, Darcie, and I all went. You can see the picture on the photo gallery page.

Dear Veteran
I am saying a bunch of things for your hard work.
First of all, you gave us our freedom.
You took our fears away.
You gave us time to relax.
You extinguished all our worries.
You scared all the scarey stuff away.
With out you, we will have no freedom.
With out you there will be no peace.
We will not have time to relax.
These are a bunch of things.
