Animal associates raised $ 129.12 and we were so excited. We had so much fun.
It was our first fund raiser. $ 120.00 of this was by doing a car wash, and the rest by making and selling bookmarks.
We donated it to a non profit animal organization, The Second Chance wildlife Center. This was only our beginning!

We are had our second annual car wash.
We first started writing letters to the editor of the newspaper, just as a reminder to all who we are, and our planes to have another care wash, and to remind other kids to be kind to animals.
We advertised the car wash in the newspaper, and the pennysavers. Because we give away the money to non-profit, we can do this for free.
It was a great sucess! We raised $ 165 . We got a money order, I signed it, along with Leah, the Supervisor and Dakota, the Holley NY Director..We mailed it, in form of a money order to The Paws of Gold Feline Rescue in Warsaw NY.
Thank you all! Without you, we could not have done this. You helped us help animals!
August 2003 Car Wash

The club had another small last minute car wash in August and raised another 70 dollars for the Paws of Gold Feline Rescue. Way to go.
September 2003 Labor Daze Parade

Although this wasn't a fundraiser, it was to make aware to the public, kids can make a difference. The club walked the parade with their pets, and threw, not candy, but pet treats, and bird seed. It was very different and fun, but most of all, it was all about the animals! We didn't raise money but we sent a message to the public about who we were, our goals, and our commitment.

OCTOBER 2003 Raffle

The club had a raffle using donated prizes from the business community. We had many wonderful things domated. from many gift cards to Six Flag Tickets. We set up a table at a bank and supermarket, made tickets, and sold them for 2/$1.00, We had so many donations, we were able to have two prizes. We raised 100 dollars and gave it to the local animal shelter, Volunteers for Animals.

Shelter collection
Our total shelter collection (April-May 2004) boxes collected in pet supplies, cat liter, soaps, detergents, tops tapes cash and pet food.
The Batavia collection raised $ 554 and Dakota's PAWS collection in Holley raised $ 40

The Batavia collection was given to the Wyoming County SPCA.

Pet of the Week Ads
I wrote news releases to the pennysavers for PET OF THE WEEK. These brought many many phone calls about horses. See the viewing page for copies thet were placed in the pennysavers. Also calls from kids wanting to volunteer at the rescue.

Britteny wrote a touching letter to the editor which brought four people calling to donate. 1. shovels for the rescue. 2. many large bags of pop bottles. I took them to High Hearts (a club that colllects bottles for cash for the horse rescue), and 3. cash donations. for going to New Hope Farm , and $ 25 that went to the horse rescue. Many donations can't have a price tag put to them.

I, Darcie, am fostering 12 of 15 neglected gerbils that were siezed by the Wyoming County SPCA. I recieved a call on January 7th, 05 from the SPCA I had volunteered with, they needed a temporary foster home the gerbils, they didn't have enough room. I will care for them and get them into good shape. When I recieved them, they were dirty, greasy, dehydtrated, and skinny.
I am cleaned them up with baby wipes and a soft toothbrush and Johnsons baby tear free shampoo and water. It will take a few baths to get them clean, they are really yukky. I am feeding them a proper diet.
update: GERBILS. The SPCA gave me permission to start adopting them out. They are all adopted out, it took 4 weeks
Dakota's ongoing shelter collection for P.A.W.S.
Dakota keeps an ongoing shelter collection at his veterinarians office. This year he collected 50.00 in supply in donations. These go to P.A.W.S. in Albion.
He is also in the prossess of setting up a car wash for 'seeing eye dogs'

Stephanies Animal & Rescue Inc. (www.stephaniesrescue.petfinder.com) called and wants our help in adopting out more gerbils in her care, and a lop eared rabbit that was discarded. I have sent out press releases for the papers. I will keep you updated.

Darcie won 500.00 from the Community Hero Awards to go to her favorite charities, sponsored by Channel 2, Univera Healthcare, and the United Way of Western New York.
The money was split between the HORSE Rescue and the Wyoming County SPCA, 250.00 each.

These famous stallions brought from Flordia are part of the original Herman Lipi's from Austria.
This was quite an honor to be involved with the magnificant stallions and see their air above ground movements and dance.

I have volunteered with W.A.R.M. in the adoption Center in Murrells Inlet, SC and the W.A.R.M. Farm in Conway helping at fundraisers.
